ETECSA begins 2015 with Wifi Technology

Artemisa township will soon have a WiFi zone in the service unit of Cuba Telecommunication Company (Etecsa) , located on the corner of the Republica and Zayas streets , said Wilfredo Rodriguez, head of group marketing and communication in Etecsa ‘s Territorial Division .

Users can access wirelessly through their nauta Internet account , said Rodriguez. "We are in the installation stage and it will begin working soon . It will reach the surrounding roads to the entity mentioned above.

But this is one of Etecsa’s goals in the year that has just opened : the enterprise expect to install Wifi in all commercial offices, one per municipality, keep on increasing fixed telephony services as well as internet connection in all Cuban houses, said Rodriguez.

"It is expected the implementation of the new measures for mobile telephony, which includes having more than one telephone number .Internet service will increase through the extension to the Computing Clubs and Post Offices , so in each municipality users can access our services."

The achievements in 2014

Cuba had until November last year three million 706 292 fixed and mobile telephone lines, for a national density of 33.06 lines per 100 inhabitants.

During 2014 Artemisa installed 2500 residential lines, 28,000 phones were activated lines and 180 alternative fixed telephonic(TFA) were replaced (commonly known as minute telephones ), Wilfredo Rodriguez explained.

The business office was also remodeled to offer a better service to clients; we diversify our sales through agents of telecommunications; we implemented the third national numbering plan and installed Wifi wireless networks service in Moka hotel.

Rodriguez acknowledged users complains related to pending transfers of telephone services fordue to its high number. "Similarly, it is needed to open a customer service workshop , so as not to extend reparations time."
