ABC Presidentas, Book on Cristina, Dilma, and Michelle, Launched

Santiago de Chile - Biographies of three presidents, doctor Michelle, lawyer Cristina and economist Dilma, are included in the book Presidentas ABC.

Journalists Lidia Baltra and Maura Brescia went deeply into the meritorious lives of Presidents of Argentina Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, of Brazil Dilma Rousseff and of Chile Michelle Bachelet.

During the launching of the book, Baltra said the three presidents are tireless workers, dedicating their managements to fight poverty, for which they have had to move away from the neoliberal model imposed by former dictatorships in their countries.

"While their stories have overlapping elements, like they were all affected by oppression of military regimes, they also have notable differences", said Brescia.

She mentioned as example that Bachelet and Rousseff, who served as ministers before being Presidents, were both victims of arbitrary detentions and tortures perpetrated by the dictatorships in their nations.

"Later Michelle Bachelet went into exile and Dilma Rousseff joined an armed movement opposing the dictatorship in her country", said Brescia.

"Undoubtedly, the most political of them is Fernandez", said Brescia mentioning her times in the Senate and other positions.

She also referred to the active role of Bachelet about gender equality, while describing the work carried out by the other two Presidents in this regard as moderate.
