Awarded ariguanabense student in the Provincial Contest "De donde crece la Palma"

San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba - The Provincial Contest "De donde crece la Palma" in its twentieth edition, unveiled the winners. The event aims to strengthen the patriotic, ethical and aesthetic values of our children and to encourage the appropriation of knowledge about the life and work of the Cuba's national hero, José Martí.

The contest is held in Candelaria, sponsored by the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Education and has national character. Most contestants are members of creative workshops leading by art instructors of the Cultural and student campuses in the city.

Daleinis Alfonso Jiménez, from Batalla del Jigüe Joint Center was prized in Popular and Traditional Culture in the fabric crochet technique on cardboard. The jury appreciated the reflection in the work of Cuban nationality mainly José Martí, also won mention in the category from four to eight years on the first level and Yadira Casteleiro in drawing tempera technique.

Ileana Cañer, promoter of the Culture House emphasizes that the award student belongs to the weaving workshop serving by the promoter Graciela Pérez. He adds that in this twentieth edition other winners from previous years are recognized. Including Roxana Silva, winner in 2011 and 2014, Erika de la Caridad Salgado awarded in 2012; Laura Alfonso Hernandez and Alex Perera, 2013.

The contest " De donde crece la Palma" has national character and is celebrated in Jiguaní, a village very close to Two Rivers and encourages the development of arts in early childhood and adolescence, grouped into categories: from four to eight, from nine to eleven and from 12 to 18 years old. The theme is free, however, is very common that participants are inspired by the figure of the Apostle.
