Bean Harvest replaced imports
Artemisa, Cuba - The production of beans in the province of Artemisa which rise the 2 100 tons planned for this year, replace imports with savings to the State of more than two millions of dollars.
The Director of the Agriculture and Forestry Enterprise Group, Tomás Rodríguez, reported that crop besides of cover the commitments with the sector of tourism, also fulfill the monthly demand of the population.
At the end of 2014 in Artemisa were planted 2465 hectares with different varieties of beans, with a significant contribution from a cooperative and rural sector, stated Tomás Rodríguez.
He highlighted among the leaders in the production of this crop the producers of Güira de Melena, San Antonio de los Baños, Alquízar and Artemisa, municipalities that over-fulfill the production of this grain with great demand.
