Artemisa with advances in the pork production

Artemisa, Cuba – The Pork Company of the province of Artemisa has the most modern Artificial Insemination Centre of the country, La Esperancita, which supplies more than 3 500 breeding females with the 84 percent of effectiveness.
Rolando Julián Perdigón, director of Technical and Development of that entity, said that the aim is to produce with quality boar semen for sale to rural producers and to the cooperative sector which is made up by 11 500 specialized producers.
About the production levels, he added that in 2014 were over-fulfilled the 12 700 tones of pork planned, and this year is expected to exceed the 13 400 tons.
The development of the artificial insemination has allowed the efficient use of stud pigs of high genetic value, control diseases, establish appropriate crossings and reduce production costs.
