Cuban Wrestlers to USA for World Cup

Havana - Cuban wrestling squad leaves today for the United States to compete this weekend in the World Cup of that sport, to be held in Los Angeles.
Reineris Salas (86 kg), twice world silver medallist, and Livan Lopez (74), bronze medallist in London-2012 and several times medallist in universal competitions, lead the Caribbean delegation.
The main coach of the team, Julio Mendieta told the National Information Agency they will face a strong World Cup, with much rivalry and each match will be very demanding, but they are prepared.
Mendieta said that when training, they emphasized in difficulties presented in previous tournaments, especially to improve the defense of the legs and the concentration on the final stage of each fight.
The Cuban team also includes the World bronze medalists of Tashkent-2014 Yowlys Bonne (57) and Javier Cortina (97).
Maikel Perez (61), Franklyn Marén (65), Andy Moreno (70) and Eduardo Mesa (125) complete the list.
The competition will take place on Saturday and Sunday through bilateral duels between each team, divided into two groups, of which the first two compete for the title and the second for the third position.
Cuba will share the group A with the planetary monarch Russia, Mongolia and the United States, while group B include Turkey, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Iran, the latter defending champion of the tournament.
