French President Meets Fidel Castro

Havana - The historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, met with French President Francois Hollande, on occasion of his official visit to the island, the national television reported.

During the meeting, yesterday afternoon, Fidel Castro and Francois Hollande held an interesting dialogue about the historical ties between Cuba and France, reviewed major issues of international events, and exchanged on their complexities and challenges in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The historic leader of the Revolution also expressed gratitude to Hollande for being the first French head of State who visits Cuba.

Fidel Castro also stated that among the first texts he read when he started high school was an extensive book on the French Revolution, although then he did not even know the value of political studies and the complex world that was behind of historic sciences.
