Cuban Film Conducta to be Screened in Spanish Circuit

Madrid - The Cuban prize-winning film "Conducta" (Behavior), by Ernesto Daranas, will be screened in the Spanish film circuit since June 5, said the distributor company European Dreams Factory.
The film, which has been awarded more than 30 prizes and numerous nominations, is promoted here as one of the Latin American films with more international prizes in the recent years, including its selection to represent Cuba at the Oscars this year.
In Spain, during the recent Malaga Film Festival it was awarded four prizes: Best Film, Best Direction, Best Actress and the Prize of the Prize of the Audience.
The film also won the Prize for Best Film in the Latin American Film Festival of Huelva, Section Rabida, and it was one of the five films competing for the Best Film of the Goya Prize.
Conducta was also awarded the UNICEF Award for Best Film About Children in the Bogota International Film Festival and Best Film in the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana.
The film tells the story of Chala, an unruly 11-year old boy who lives with his mother, and his relation with Carmela, his teacher in sixth grade.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''. The exhibition shows photographs, puppets and costumes used by Los Cuenteros in various performances since 1969.
