In favor of agroecology ariguanabense researchers

San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba - The Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) in the ariguanabense territory contributes to economic and social development through the implementation of joint actions and coordinated effort with producers for achieving results and solutions to scientific, technological and environmental with the use of cleaner technologies for better economic use of residual problems.
The CITMA specialist of the Administration Council of Local Body of the People´s Power, Osvaldo Pino said that the Scientific Advisory Board is valuable for their collaboration in the consistent integration of all factors contributing to the sustainable development of the territory. He adds that the agronomist Carlos Suárez, soil specialist performs actions in the Credits and Services Cooperative "Vicente Perez Noa" and particularly Fidel Muñoz producer who first applied on bean crops leaching water of humus and the cultivation of ornamental plants with good quality of posture and pest free.
Pino explained that to achieve production of vermicompost, the water involved in the process is collected and used in spraying the foliage of plants, the product has fungicidal properties against pests through equipment which replaces chemicals. The organic product does not harm the soil or production which first achieved in this peasant lands superior results represented 2.4 tons of beans per hectare. The experience earned national recognition and is within the projections for application to land from other producers. It also states that the application works in the orchid"The Samurai flower" located in St. Paul and the application in the next harvest at the Credit and Services Cooperative Vicente Pérez Noa, organic potatoes without fertilizers.
He insists in the restoration of Entomophages and Endomopathogens Reproduction Center (CREE) is an urgent task and a claim of all productive ways to have organic products for use in agriculture and reduce the use of fertilizers and other chemicals, taking into account the geographical location of the territory on the Ariguanabo Basin and the possible effects to groundwater.
