Specialists study the air quality in Mariel

Artemisa, Cuba - A rigorous process of scientific studies to measure the air quality in the municipality of Mariel is executing by specialists of the Center for Monitoring the Atmosphere belonging to the Institute of Meteorology in Havana.
These studies are based in the identification of the main pollutants agents that affect human and environmental health of this territory that holds into its geography an extensive industrial area.
According to Dr. Osvaldo Cuesta head of the Center for the Study and Control of the Atmosphere of the Meteorology Institute the research is an elementary premise to take decisions from the scientific results obtained.
In the scientific research are involved specialists from four institutes and they are working having as the start point the existing project for the comprehensive study approved and funded by the Environment Agency of Cuba, which takes into account the importance of the territory of Mariel for the economic development of the country.
