Artemisa, Cuba - The province of Artemisa redoubled the attentions to the tobacco plantations as part of the campaign to promote the cultivation and collection of the tobacco leaf, which layers guarantee the 40 percent of the country's export.

With this effort the territory must produce in its fertile red lands more than 150 tons of layers for the international market in the 2014-2015 campaign.

This will enable the Company of Collection and Benefit of Tobacco Lázaro Peña, located in the municipality of San Antonio de los Baños in the province of Artemisa, to exceed the export numbers compared with last year when only contributed about 23 tons.

Artemisa counts in the tobacco sector with 8 Business Units of Base (UEB) destined for the benefit of the aromatic plant.
