Havana - The direction of Cuban baseball separated player Yulieski Gourriel from the national pre-selection training in order to participate at the Pan American Games Toronto 2015 next July, informed today Jit digital newspaper.

Yuliesky, as part of the Cuban team, was called to attend the Latin American Stadium on May 25 when the training began, but he declained, and has not participated in any of the training sessions.

He did not attend the squad for the tournament in Canada and the bilateral game against a US university selection, and so he was replaced by Rudy Reyes, stated to the newspaper Heriberto Suarez, President of the Cuban baseball.

It is not said the reasons why Gourriel ignored the summons and if his position imply an added penalty, as might be to not allow him to participate in the upcoming 55th National Series, main national competition.

As part of its preparation for Toronto-2015, Cuban pre-selection will face from June 20 to 25 its pair of Nicaragua and in July will face the United States besides other friendly matches.
