Artemisa, Cuba – Close to the coastline of the Bay of Cabañas in the municipality of Mariel, welders and workers in general from the Shipyard Company Roberto Nodarse work daily in the repair of different vessels, belonging to the Caribbean Sailing, Maritime Works and other companies hired with the center.

A floating crane, a jet ski and a tugboat are the main ships in which they work today, scheduled within the production plan for this year.

Three brigades work in different areas, rotating depending on the specificities of the object of work. Each day is intense, because the vessels must return to their places of origin, ready for navigation.

With over four decades of existence, the shipyard is distinguished with the condition of National Vanguard Staff for 7 consecutive years and recently it was awarded with the medal Jesús Menéndez, recognition for the daily work of more than 150 men and women of the sea.
