In the first performances in U.S. territory, the vocal group, founded in 1981, received a great welcome at the University of Yale, a tercentenary higher education center located in New Haven, state of Connecticut.

The award-winning teacher, also leader of the National Chorus of Cuba, stated that in one of the performances in Yale the presenter recalled the ongoing process of rapprochement between the island and the United States, announced in December 2014 by the Presidents Raul Castro and Barack Obama.

According to Guerra, in this trip, organized by the touring promoter company Classical Movements, choral music lays bridges between the two peoples.

Guerra and her group met yesterday in New York with the staff of the island's permanent mission at the United Nations.
