Working for a better society

San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba - Community work in this town brings together representatives of neighborhood organizations, with a multidisciplinary team that works in a coordinated manner in the activity programs for the incorporation to society, through proposals for enriching life styles and transformers of misconduct.
Belkis Rodríguez, first secretary of the Federation of Cuban Women at Ariguanabo integrates the prevention commission in the territory and from the characterization of the problems incident through the neighborhoods discussion, meetings, events, educational lectures and other activities as possible ways of community participation with different population groups: women, children, youth and seniors.
It notes that the diagnosis embraces the needs and interests of the community, which is the starting point for the participation of all the institutions, to know what priority leads to a response on the actions to be developed in the community with different groups, so the participation of cultural institutions enriches the work.
The first secretary of the Federation of Cuban Women at Ariguanabo noted that workshops prepare people, train them, develop skills through different training courses in sewing, weaving, dolls, also coordinates with the Department Education for the training of people in various trades as well as proposed source of employment.
It stresses that one of the challenges of these workshops is to influence all sectors to achieve greater social role by creating intergenerational spaces support of citizen participation for environmental rehabilitation, sanitation projects and revival of the community, prevention of gender violence is crucial and highlights the role of the Orientation for Women and Family House to support work on the formation of values from the family.
