The Mariel cultural institutions this June 23 opened their doors in an especial way as part of the celebrations for the 210 anniversary of the foundation of the historic center of the port and industrial city.

It was held a commemorative mass honoring the one which was celebrated in 1805; the first religious ceremony of its kind that was held in the nascent town, with the participation of the first 16 families who lived in the city at that time.

According to the words of Edel Mayor Bersach, historian of the municipality of Mariel, the cultural program was designed from the unanimous proposal of convert the date of June 23 as a day of the identity of the people of Mariel.

Mayor Bersach said that all activities were performed with the artistic talent of the municipality.

The folk group Kinfuiti, unique of its kind in Cuba, Latin America and the Caribbean, the group Juventud de Mariel (Mariel Youth) and the conga are going to provide the entertainment the celebration.
