Artemisa, Cuba - Prominent U.S. film director, screenwriter and producer Francis Ford Coppola and part of his family visited on Tuesday the International Film and Television School of San Antonio de los Baños (EICTV).

The renowned filmmaker was invited by the general direction of the higher education center and it is the third time he visits the School, this time accompanied by his son Roman, also a film director, and his grandchildren Gia, Pascale Electra and Marcello Archimedes.

The director of The Godfather, Apocalypse Now and Dracula, will meet on Wednesday with a group of students preparing for graduation work and remain on the island until Sunday.

During his stay, he will meet with Roberto Smith, president of the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC).

According to reports by Cuban and foreign press –the prizewinning filmmaker expressed his interest in talking to young filmmakers of the EICTV about their artistic concerns and will analyze some film productions by the new directors now being trained in Cuba.

Considered by the specialized critics to be one of the essential names in the world of cinema, Coppola has won five Oscars and received a short time ago in Spain the Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts.
