Graphic Exhibition on Fidel Castro in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires - The Cultural Center of Cooperation hosts the exhibition "Chronicle of an unforgettable day," showing some moments of the speech by Fidel Castro in 2003 from the stairs of the Faculty of Law at the University of Buenos Aires.
The exhibition, to be opened until September 6, was presented yesterday night by the institution´s assistant director, Horacio Lopez; Cuban ambassador, Orestes Perez; and Jorge Anro, leader of the workers' union at the university center, who was one of the organizers of that event 12 years ago.
For Gabriel Aguirre, who still walks with a camera in hand, "that day and those are really unforgettable moments.
Although when the opening of the exhibition was also a recognition of his work and had to be on stage, Aguirre obviated what is a protocol and did not stop taking pictures of the activity from different angles that highlighted his own work.
Renowned intellectual Horacio Lopez made the presentation in which he recalled that this is the second exhibition organized by the Cultural Center of Cooperation on the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution.
He said he organized last year the exhibition "Fidel, 83 Reasons," which collects some snapshots by five photographers, including Alex Castro, who traveled for the occasion, and a book with all the pictures was published.
On the other hand, Anro remembered that it was expected Fidel spoke within the campus, at the Main Lecture hall of the Faculty with capacity for 1,000 people, "but when people was informed about, there was an overflow audience, everything got out of hand."
Fidel traveled to Buenos Aires to attend Nestor Kirchner's presidential inauguration, to which Presidents Hugo Chavez (Venezuela) and Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (Brazil), among other Latin American statesmen, also participated.
Ambassador Orestes Perez closed the presentation with a biographical sketch of the revolutionary leader, in which he stressed "that with his personality and work, Fidel marked the history of Latin America and the Caribbean."
