
Havana - Casa de las Americas joined for the first time to Habanarte Festival with a comprehensive exhibition on Latin American drawing, open to the public today, in addition to hosting concert halls and book launching.
The activities of the institution make up the agenda of the festival that for 10 days aims to unite all the art once in Havana.
With the reopening of the exhibition "Año del Dibujo," Casa de las Americas put back in the limelight the production of outstanding artists of the continent, such as Colombian Pedro Alcantara, Argentines Leon Ferrari and Julio Le Parc, and Cubans Mariano Rodriguez and Antonia Eiriz .
Among the 80 pieces on display, there are also artists from Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela and Spain.
The exhibition joins to the initiative boosted by the institution since 2006 to display its collection "Arte of Our de Nuestra America Haydee Santamaria," to devote a period of time to specific creations: "Año Matta" (2006), "Año Cinetico" (2009), "Año de la Nueva Figuracion" (2012), and "Año Fotografico" (2013-2014).
This festival brings together from September 3 to 13 the programming of different cultural centers in a same event, aimed at displaying the range of cultural offerings of the capital of this island.
