Celac Promotes Integration Spaces, Argentinian Minister Says

Havana - Argentina´s Culture Minister Teresa Parodi said today that the spaces of discussion favored by organizations like the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) are fundamental for the integration of the peoples.

During events like the 3rd Meeting of Celac Culture Ministers being held in Havana, we make important decisions that then implement in our countries and are useful to generate strategic policies, she told Prensa Latina.

The peoples from Latin America and the Caribbean need to come together and culture is one of the best ways to do it, he stressed.

In addition, governments are also committed to come together by means of cultural ties and, institutions like Celac, promote thinking together on these issues, the Minister said.

Once agreements are made, each nation implements them according to its specific characteristics but following a common policy in order to strengthen integration, she added.

"For Latin American and the Caribbean, this represents a step forward and the Celac has a fundamental role in that path".

Since yesterday, Cuba hosts for the first time the meeting of Celac Ministries of Culture, with the participation of more than 28 countries.
