Santiago de Cuba - A warm embrace from the people of Santiago de Cuba will receive today Pope Francis on his arrival in the afternoon to this city, from where he will end tomorrow noon his visit to Cuba, which began on Saturday, Sept 19.

His Holiness will arrive here from the eastern city of Holguin and from the "Antonio Maceo" International Airport, he will move to the town of El Cobre, about 22 kilometers, where the National Sanctuary of the Virgin of La Caridad is located.

Billboards and posters of welcome with the image of His Holiness and fabrics with white and yellow colors, along with Cuban flags, decorate streets and avenues of the tour his entourage will do.

At the central Cespedes Park, opposite the Metropolitan Cathedral, chairs and other necessary conditions are ready for the meeting the highest authority of the Catholic Church will hold tomorrow with Cuban families, before his departure.

On Tuesday morning, Pope Francis will officiate a mass at that Basilica, with which a Jubilee Year will start for the centenary of the request made to the Holy See by independence wars´ veterans for the declaration of the Virgin of La Caridad del Cobre, as a Patron saint of Cuba.
