Raúl congratulates Granma

Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers sent a recognition to Granma on the occasion of the newspaper’s 50th anniversary, which was delivered by Rolando Alfonso Borges, Central Committee members and head of its ideological department for the press, to Granma editor Pelayo Terry, in a simple ceremony during the staff celebration on Saturday, October 3.
The recognition read, “On the occasion of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee’s official voice,” and bore an image of the daily’s first front page five decades ago, which said, “There is no sacrifice, battle, or feat accomplishment which is not represented on the Central Committee,” since on that historic date also born was the Communist Party of Cuba structure and its leadership body announced.
Granma workers expressed their happiness with the recognition, while at the same time reiterating their commitment to continue as the Party’s paper, demonstrating ever greater professionalism.
