Discussions on Day of Cuban Culture in Digital Media Begin

Havana - The 6th Day of Cuban Culture in Digital Media starts here today to promote, as every year, the debate on new implementation methods with current technologies.
The Salón de Mayo (The May Hall) in the Pabellón Cuba of this capital, gathers professionals and specialists in the development of computerization and telecommunications, in addition to culture and journalism until next Friday.
The opening day is dedicated to the computerization of Cuban society and provides conferences on new online services as a result of the projects of the Ministry of Communications and those of Computer Clubs.
The program of the event announces for tomorrow the exhibition "Videogame. Art for the User?" and the presentation of productions from the Animation Studios of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC, in Spanish), as Superclaria and La Chivichana.
Moreover, cultural journalism in digital media and new experiences of this kind in Cuba will be the focus of the third working session, on November 12. Details of the first project Transmedia of the International Film School of San Antonio de los Baños will be also known.
Digital photography and its relevance for journalism and the importance and challenges in Cuba of the Community Manager (network manager), will be the topics of other debates.
During November 11 and 12, the participants can make free downloads of movies, books, music and games for children.
The event will end on November 13 with the delivery of award Digital Palma 2015, given to websites and blogs specializing in cultural issues, digital media and mobile and desktop applications which socialize this type of contents such.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''. The exhibition shows photographs, puppets and costumes used by Los Cuenteros in various performances since 1969.
