The 37th International Festival of Cinema in Havana at Full Swing

Havana - The 37th Festival of New Latin American Cinema will host today conferences, lectures and exhibition of films from different continents, a typical day in this country''s cultural offering.

Among the presentations to be made of the films in competition stand out, among others, the Latin American movies "A thousand-headed monster" (Mexico), "Paula" (Argentina) and "A Second Mother" (Brazil), which will be described by its directors and cast members.

In the national area, it is to be highlighted the meeting with the media of the staff from the film "Dancing with Margot", by Arturo Santana, and the conference of the film "The Human Thing", by the experienced Gerardo Chijona.

In addition, a lecture entitled "Documentary Production", by American Sheila Nevins, from the chain HBO Documentaries will be held.

As part of the exhibition to be held in this capital on materials of HBO, will be screened today "Mariela Castro's March: LGBT Cuba's Revolution", by Jon Alpert and Divided Class, by Marc Levin.

From the Old World comes to Cuba the Spanish teacher Ángel García Crespo to guide the Conference on Audiovisual Accessibility for people with hearing and visual impairment, a very current topic due to modern technologies that have made their way in between.

In the field of projections and premieres to a big scale, undoubtedly highlights the Irish film "Viva", which is set in Cuba and has Cuban actors Héctor Medina, Luis Alberto García and Jorge Perugorría, and it is a candidate of Ireland for the next Oscars.

These and other options promise a safe arrival of the 37th Festival of New Latin American Cinema to the midpoint of its 10 days which, year after year, return to this capital the feeling of being at the epicenter of the international film industry.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company  celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''.
