Cuban GM Bruzon among leaders in Gibraltar Open
Cuban GM Lazaro Bruzon (2 666 Elo points) appears among the 10 men on top of the standings in the seventh round of the Tradewise Gibraltar Chess Festival 2016 .
Bruzón beat on Sunday German Alexander Donchenko in only 29 moves of an English Opening and now totals 5 points, tied with the other leaders but is actually 8th by tiebreak.
Frenchmen Etienne Bracot and Mexime Vachier -Lagrave appear 1 st and 2nd by better tiebreak in that order.
They are followed by Austrian Markus Ragger, Indians Pentala Harikrisna and Abhijeet Gupta, Hungarian Richard Rapport and Chinese Yangyi Yu.
While Spanish David Anton and Indian Gujrathi Vidit Santosh close the list of those tied on first spot of the event.
The Caribbean player will have a very tough opponent today in Harikrisna (2 755), There will be other important games today among the leaders such us Vachier vs. Ragger, Bracot vs. Gupta, Rapport vs. Anton and Yu vs. Vidit Santosh.
