Raul Receives Visiting ECLAC Executive Secretary

Army General Raul Castro, President of the councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, received Alicia Barcena, Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), who is on a visit to Cuba, according to a note published by the Granma newspaper.

During the cordial meeting, held on Thursday afternoon, they spoke about the excellent cooperation existing between Cuba and the ECLAC and the willingness to continue deepening it. Likewise, they tackled other topics on the regional and international agendas. The top official of the United Nations expressed her satisfaction for being able to contribute to the process of updating of the island’s economic model.
Accompanying the distinguished visitor was Anibal Severino Rodriguez.

Cuba was also represented at the meeting by Bruno Rodriguez and Rodrigo Malmierca, ministers of Foreign Affaire and Foreign Trade and Investment, respectively.
