Hanoi - Cuban president, Raul Castro, has congratulated his Vietnamese counterpart, Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, for their recent election to their posts.

In messages to the president and the prime minister of Vietnam, Raúl Castro, the president of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, confirmed his will to continue strengthening the historical ties of friendship and cooperation that unite both parties, peoples and countries.

Tran Dai Quang and Nguyen Xuan Phuc were elected to their respective positions during the eleventh session of the Thirteenth Legislature of the National Assembly, which concluded this week.

Important parliament leaders and leaders of several government agencies, were also appointed.

Last December, Cuba and Vietnam celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
