Cuban Wrestler Gilberto Piquet to Compete in Mongolia

Havana - Cuban Greco Roman style wrestler, Gilberto Piquet (85 kilograms), will compete at the Pre-Olympic tournament in Ulan Bator, Mongolia, from April 22nd to 24th, as reported by local sport weekly, JIT, on Wednesday.
Piquet has already recovered from an injury and is now in Mongolia with the goal of gaining one of the three Olympic places for his category at the Olympic Games.
The wrestling tournament will gather more than 240 fighters, 108 of them to compete in the Greco Roman style, at the Palace of Sports in the capital of Mongolia.
In the Cuban fighters' category is the king of the world tournament in Las Vegas 2015 Ukrainian, Zhan Beleniuk, in addition to the Uzbek and silver medalist Rustam Sssakalov; as well as Iranians, Jomeh Akhlaghi and Azerí Samman Tahmasebi, who are bronze medalists.
The inscriptions list also shows representatives from Finland, Hungary, United States, Mexico, China, Venezuela, Kirguistán, Egypt, Algeria, Russia and Bulgaria.
To date, Cuban fighters have gained 10 places for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the five-time world Champion and two-time Olympic Champ, Mijaín López (130 kilos), heads the list.
Ismael Borreo, winner of the gold medal in the universal contest last year in the 59 kilos category, is also a contender for a place at the Olympics.
The team is also composed of Yasmany Lugo (98kgs ), Miguel Martínez (66kgs ) and Yurisandy Hernández (75kgs ).
In the case of the freestyle fighters, those that have been classified are, Yowlys Bonne (57 kgs), Alejandro Valdés (65kgs ), Liván López (74kgs ), Reineris Rooms (86kgs ) and Javier Cortina (97kgs ).
