Precisely in the World Earth Day, former leaders of the Cuban Workers Federation(CTC) and its unions , were honored in the community Las Terrazas, rural sustainable social development project located in Candelaria Township.

In recognition of their systematic and dedicated devotion to work, Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, member of the Political Bourou and General Secretary of CTC, handed the 75 anniversary stamp of the founding of the labor organization to the architect Osmany Cienfuegos, chief architect of this prestigious resort, in the Biosphere Reserve Sierra del Rosario.

Similarly they were honored three participants in the events of Bay of Pigs and five literacy teachers of the community.

On behalf of the veteran union leaders, Rosario Fernandez received from Eduardo Antonio Chiong, general secretary of the CTC in Artemisa, image of an illustrious son of this land, Ruben Martinez Villena, as well as an image with unmistakable symbols young province: the Cube of the Victoria and Mariel Special Development Zone.

Guilarte called the people to lead a compact , colorful and patriotic parade on May Day, with motivation to celebrate 55 anniversaries of the declaration of Cuba Free Territory of Illiteracy and the great defeat of Yankee imperialism in America.

Ulises also highlighted the workers’role in the implementation of the agreements of the Seventh Party Congress, to produce wealth and mainstay of economic and social model we have chosen.

The political ceremony was attended by Aliucha Alvarez, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Party; Celia Travieso, vice president of the Provincial Assembly of People's Power; Party authorities, the Government and the Council of Administration in Candelaria, along with representatives of national unions of Hotels and Tourism, and Education, Science and Sport.
