Residents of the Cuban capital are extremely satisfied by the implementation of new measures to reduce the selling price of agricultural products.

We know that the state seeks initiatives to raise the purchasing power of the Cuban peso (CUP) and this, along with that of reducing the cost of items in convertible peso (CUC), will allow more people to be benefited, she noted.

She added it is also necessary that local governments to require administrations of state markets where price reduction will be applied to identify those centers, in the interests of the population to claim any violation in marketing.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, there are 26 products that will have a differentiated selling price in these units.

The new measures for the management of the marketing of agricultural products were published in the Official Gazette through Resolutions 157 and 162-C of 2016 of the Ministry of Finance and Prices.

Such actions seek among other purposes to increase the collection of agricultural products in high demand, and their marketing to people at set maximum prices.

This is a protection to consumers and also for agricultural producers, it ensures stability in price levels, says the official note.

It specifies that the maximum prices correspond with quality products, in accordance with current regulations, and takes into account the times of each crop: the optimum ones, where yields are higher.

It also says that these new measures apply for all types of agricultural markets, with the exception of those of supply and demand, and in the case of the province of Havana, is also for the Self-Employed authorized to exercise this activity.
