Cuba-U.S.A. Direct Interconnection Agreements Signed

The Cuba Telecommunications Company S.A. (ETECSA) and T-Mobile U.S.A., announced on Monday the completion of negotiations and the signing of agreements on direct interconnection for the international exchange of voice traffic between Cuba and the United States.
According to Elisa Diaz, ETECSA Corporate Communications Specialist, the agreement includes the services of voice and text roaming and data for customers of T-Mobile U.S.A. traveling to Cuba.
These agreements, she said, will initially allow the offering of services of phone calls through direct interconnection between the two countries.
Customers of mobile services of T-Mobile U.S.A., she pointed put, will be able to use their mobile phones in the ETECSA network and will come into operation once the implementation period and technical tests carried out by the two operators are completed.
The T-Mobile U.S.A. company, based in Washington, provides global communication services.
