International Psychology Forum in Havana

The 7th Inter-Continental Psychology Convention Hominis 2016, opened in Havana with the attendance of some 700 specialists from 46 countries, out of whom 400 are Cubans.
The forum will take a look at today’s social scenario, the results of the work of Cuban experts, and world integration in the field of psychology, according to the president of the Cuban Psychology Society Doctor Alexis Lorenzo, who heads the event’s organizing committee.
The forum, underway at Havana’s Conventions Center, includes symposiums related to special education, addictive behaviors, aging, and sexuality research.
The convention will also include a session on the role of psychology in the event of emergencies and disasters, in which Cuban experts will present its experiences in assisting people who have been the victims of such events in other nations, and specifically in Ecuador, after the most recent quake that hit that country.
Among the countries with the largest expert delegations to the forum are Mexico, Brazil, Puerto Rico, the U.S.A., Colombia, Spain, Argentina, and Chile, and Cuba as host.
