Artemisa participates in territorial nursing event

Artemisa Cuba - About 7 delegates of Artemisa are present for these days at the territorial event Nursing of Advanced Practice, which with the participation of professionals from the provinces of Pinar del Rio, Mayabeque, Matanzas and Havana, is in session until this Friday in the Cuban capital.
Doctor Alicia González from the provincial teaching hospital Ciro Redondo Garcia exposed in the western meeting her experience in essential newborn care.
During the territorial nursing event which concludes today in Havana, the province of Artemisa is also represented by Ms Gricel Mirabal, who presented her research on the prevention of sexual risk behavior in adolescents.
Nurses of Artemisa besides present a sample of their achievements in the use of the natural and traditional medicine, which shows the best results in the municipalities of Candelaria and Artemisa.

Havana - Cuban intellectual Abel Prieto was appointed president of Casa de las Américas, the center's website La Ventana reported today.
Prieto, former minister of Culture and currently serving as director of the Marti Program Office and president of the José Martí Cultural Society, was nominated for the post by Alpidio Alonso, current Culture Minister.
