ACE Preparing Action Plan 2016-2018

Havana - The draft Action Plan of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) for 2016-2018 is ready for examination in the Preparatory Meeting for the 7th Summit scheduled for Havana on June 4, the Cuban Foreign Ministry (Minrex) announced.

According to the Minrex website, the Secretariate of ACS and the Cuban Government, as President of the Council of Ministers of ACS, led the fifth meeting of the subcommission in charge of drafting theaction plan that was held in Trinidad Tobago in preparation for the Havana summit.

The 7th Summit of Heads of State and Government, which will be held at the Revolution Palace, is expected to be attended by

representatives of the 25-member ACS, the seven associate states and 21 countries and eight organizations as observers, besides other guests.

On April 13, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez received in this capital the Secretary General of ACS, Alfonso Munera, and they talked the agenda for the main event.

Rodriguez highlighted Munera´s work at the helm of the organization and appreciated the support offered to Cuba as President of the Council of Ministers from Jan, 2016 to Jan. 2017.

The ACS was established in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, on July 24, 1994, to promote joint consultation, cooperation and action among Caribbean countries, recalls the source.
