After the earthquake of 6.8 degrees on the Richter scale that shook Ecuador again on Wednesday, the Cuban workers in the South American nation continued their work normally.

According to the report by the Geophysical Institute of the National Polytechnic Center of Ecuador, the earth tremor occurred at 02:57 a.m., at a depth of 10 kilometers, and its epicenter was located near Mompiche, on the country’s coast.

The quake was felt in Quito and was a replica of the earthquake of April 16, which killed 661 people. In the north of Quito, several areas of the province of Esmeraldas were left without power.

The strong earthquake brought people flooding into the streets in Bahia de Caraquez and Pedernales, Manabi.
According to journalist Wilmer Rodriguez, special correspondent of Cuban Television sent to the disaster area, both Cuban voluntary workers in Ecuador and the members of the Henry Reeve Medical Brigade are out of danger and continue offering their services to the population.

In the locality of Jama, on the Pacific coast of Ecuador and in other localities, the earthquake destroyed houses and injured several people.
