Cuba and Bolivia Strengthen Cooperation in Key Sectors

Havana, Cuba -With the presence of Army General Raul Castro, President of the Cuban Councils of State and Ministers, and Bolivian President Evo Morales, an outline agreement for bilateral cooperation was signed today in this capital.
The Foreign Minister of Bolivia, David Choquehuanca, and Rodrigo Malmierca, Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, signed the document that will promote the development of mechanisms and programs to favor links within the framework of South-South cooperation, in key areas like the economy, health, education and culture.
One of the main sectors of bilateral cooperation over the past decade has been health, with the cooperation of the Cuban Medical Brigade, as part of which more than 700 health professionals offer their services in the Andean nation.
As part of cooperation between the two countries, more than 3,700 Bolivian scholarship students study in different Cuban educational centers, which will join the 2,558 youngsters that have graduated on the island.

The Cuban Art University (ISA) opened an honorary department dedicated to Fidel Castro’s cultural thinking on Monday as a tribute to the Cuban Revolution’s historical leader, three years after his passing.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''. The exhibition shows photographs, puppets and costumes used by Los Cuenteros in various performances since 1969.
