Cuban Vice President''s Visit to Belarus Exceeded Expectations

Minsk - Cuban First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel, stated that the official visit to Belarus that concludes today exceeded all expectations.
"I'm talking about surpass expectations because regardless of what we have been doing together, issues that will generate an improvement in exchange and cooperation in the immediate future were discussed here", the Cuban leader told Prensa Latina.
Diaz-Canel stated that the Belarusian authorities were very condescending towards the delegation, which gave all possibilities and attentions, in a very ambitious, but necessary agenda.
We had a very important meeting with President, Alexander Lukashenko, we also held talks with the prime minister and a group of deputy ministers, with whom we assess the entire cooperation agenda, he said.
The Cuban leader and his accompanying delegation also met with the presidents of the two parliamentary chambers and visited the Academy for the training of top officials attached to the office of President Lukashenko.
He described as excellent the relationships between Minsk and Havana. The tradition of friendship between the two governments and peoples is their historical foundation.
The first vice president recalled that Lukashenko carried out one of his visits to Cuba in 2012, and then there was a meeting in 2015 on occasion of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly, in which the presidents of the two countries met.
Diaz-Canel said that the tour will continue today with a six-day visit in Russia. The aim is also to assess the current state of the political, economic and trade relations and review a group of major projects underway.
