Artemisa, Cuba - The member of the Council of State and President of the National Association of Small Farmers, Rafael Ramón Santiesteban Pozo, recognized the active contribution of young people to the agricultural development in the country.

During the youth meeting in Artemisa, the also member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, said that there is no possible work without the presence of young people, who are noted for their ideas and preparation in the food production.

In the debates excelled the need of a greater attention to the youthful universe, the irregularities in the application of the credit policy and the deficiencies that persist in the hiring of workers and in the marketing of the crops.

In the meeting were honored 11 young people as Vanguards of the sector in Artemisa, for their achievements in the Youth Technical Brigades, in the confrontation of the illegalities and the quality and variety achieved by their productive ways
