Foreign Tourists Highlight Attractions of Cuban Hotel

Havana - Tourists stressed today the attractions of the Cuban hotel Rancho Luna, in the central-south province of Cienfuegos, which will turn 35 years.
The hotel will celebrate more than three decades of operations on Sunday. Most local and international guests currently show satisfaction with its services.
Georgina Garcia, commercial director of the hotel, said this anniversary is being celebrated with an increase in customers' reception and income. She also reported that the increase in the number of regular guests has exceeded 15 percent, compared with the first six months of 2015.
Such data benefits the peak tourist season (November-April) and the presence, above all, of Canadian vacationers, the executive said.
Rancho Luna has 222 rooms and was remodeled recently. Some 120 solar heaters were installed to improve its electrical systems.
Technical head Rodolfo Rajadel said that the efficiency of those heaters is higher on sunny days. They also benefit the guests in their rooms, and the work in the kitchen.
The hotel was inaugurated on July 10, 1981, and has an excellent location in the province, especially for sun and beach tourism and for recreational water activities such as diving and rowing.
Cuba annually receives more than 3.5 million foreign tourists, and its major tourist-sending market is Canada.
The Caribbean island has more than 62,000 rooms in about 300 hotels distributed across the country.
