Cuba Benefits from Loans to Change Agricultural Machinery

International government loans granted to Cuba in the past two years have contributed to the gradual change of agricultural machinery, asserted in Wednesday in this capital an official of the Ministry of Agriculture (MINAG).
Evelio Linares, a specialist with the General Department of Agricultural Engineering, told reporters that such payment facilities enabled the arrival of tractors and other equipment and means to boost development programs in rice, cattle and various crops, just to name a few.
He stressed that these sources of funding come from the More Food program of Brazil, and loans of Belarus, Italy, Russia and China.
Linares reiterated that in line with the provisions of the policy of irrigation and mechanization, each investment provides guarantee of parts and accessories for both the warranty period and the period of use or sustainability in years to come.
The incorporation of the new machinery has made it possible to reduce fuel consumption and increase production efficiency and yields.
