
The tenth Central American International Olimpiad Chemistry competition will begin on next Sunday in Havana city, along with the presence of students from Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador and Cuba, respectively.
Prensa Latina news agency promotes the study of the Chemistry Sciences in the region. Moreover, the fact about encouraging the development of young and talented people in that subject, are among the goals of that competition. They are included in the eighth International Chemistry contest of the Caribbean.
´Another goal is precisely to encouraging a “chemical culture” with an impact on the scientific and technological development of the Central American region, ´ according to that press release.
Both competitions are dedicated to the Chemistry competition that will be held at the University of Havana and the Mártires de Girón Polytechnic center that is located to the east of the city.
Created in 2007 in Costa Rica, Cuba joined this event in 2009 and achieved two gold medals, a silver medal and a bronze one in the previous competition that was carried out in Panama.
