The investments of the renewable-energy sources are one of the strategic sectors of Cuba and it might be taken into account that it is democratic exercise in which all Cubans are participating.

The bases of the plan for the social development until 2030 is one of the documents approved to include them at the XVII Communist Party Congress of Cuba (PCC) which will be held until the month of September.

In this document, it is established and recognized that the energetic sector is one of the nation´s strategic ones. Moreover, it has also been identified which are the main problems of that sector.

Cuba has a high-imported oil dependency which is its vulnerability, as well as a high cost of the energy delivered and a low use of the renewable sources of energy. The nation uses the 4% only and it has been plan to reach even a 24%. That purposes takes part of a chronology for its implementation until 2020.

Cuba continues working through some renewable sources and the bio-energy is one of them. It is about the proper use and service that could be provided by the Cuban sugar mills. This process requires over $ three thousand million dollars as a way to get the desired results and a foreign inversion that is present in some sugar mills of the nation.

In addition, the forest biomass will be used and there are more than 8 thousand windmills to generate that electricity. The wind energy would be the other one and there are some related and experimental parks in the Cuban territory, as it is known.
