France: The Security Council Meets Again after Attack

Paris - The French Security and Defense Council today met for the fourth time in the last week led by President François Hollande, after the attack in Nice on July 14th.
According to a statement from the Elysee Palace, the aim of the conclave is to discuss the current details of the situation in the country after the massacre.
Shortly before the meeting, Hollande held a meeting with Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, while the Council was also attended by Prime Minister Manuel Valls, the Minister of Justice Jean-Jacques Urvoas, and the Health Minister Marisol Touraine.
The Chief of Staff of the Army, Pierre de Villiers was also present as well as representatives of the several divisions of the security forces.
After the attacks the Council met on Friday July 15th, on Saturday and on Monday.
On July 14th an individual identified as Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel attacked a crowd gathered on the Promenade des Anglais, in the southern city of Nice, killing 84 people and leaving more than 300 wounded.
Although the Islamic State claimed the action hours later, the prosecution last night confirmed that they have not been able to establish any link between that terrorist organization and the author of the attack.
