Colombian Liberals to Vote Yes in Peace Referendum

Bogota - The Colombian Liberal Party (PLC) confirmed today that it would vote ''yes'' in the referendum that will be held to validate the peace agreements between the National Government and the FARC-EP.

According to a statement issued by the PLC, all party members and social forces that support the PLC will be convened in the capital on August 17th to ratify the party's position in relation to the referendum.

The PLC decision is headed by Horacio Serpa, the co-director of the party and a senator of the republic.

Serpa expressed the PLC position to Colombian president, Juan Manuel Santos, during a meeting at Casa Nariño, the seat of the national government.

Serpa also said that liberalism has invited all Colombians who feel the need for peace to endorse the 'yes' vote in the referendum.
