La Paz-Support for the revolutions of Cuba, Venezuela and Bolivia, as well as support for the struggle of the Argentine people - who are faced with a neoliberal government - have been at the forefront of discussions at the ''Colloquium on Political Processes of Progressive Governments'' held at the Greater University of San Andres.

The colloquium, held last night in the Law and Political Science faculty, brought together panelists such as Mariana Gonzalez (Venezuela), Eric Valdes Cuba), Esteban Diatolevi (Argentina), and Hugo Moldiz (Bolivia).

Before an audience of students, teachers, diplomats and social activists, the political scientist, Marcelo Silva, explained how the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela is being subjected to an intense economic war by the U.S. allied opposition.

Mariana Gonzalez stated that the revolutionary consciousness that the late President, Hugo Chavez engendered in his people is the determining factor that has enabled Venezuela to resist and overcome the attack aimed at undermining support for the government.

Eric Valdes talked about the 57-year struggle of the Cuban people - facing U.S. imperialism just 90 miles from its territory - and the 634 unsuccessful attempts by its intelligence apparatus to murder the historic leader, Fidel Castro, who will soon turn 90.

Esteban Diatoveli gave a talk on how the current Argentine government is committed to rapidly destroying the 12-year achievements of progressive governments, and how popular mobilizations in the country reflect the rejection of neoliberal and colonial measures.
