Cuban First VP attends sessions of university students national council

Cuban First Vice-President Miguel Diaz-Canel is attending the last two days of debates on the national Council of the University Students Federation (FEU) underway in Havana city.

The meeting celebrates de 6oth anniversary of the Carta de Mexico (Letter of Mexico) a pact between the July 26 Movement and FEU and its armed branch the Directorio Revolucionario, to unite forces, signed by its two leaders, Fidel Castro and Jose Antonio Echeverria, respectively: as well as the 90th birthday of the Cuban revolution leader.
The 84-strong council, which leads the students ‘organization between congresses, is gathered at the Cojimar Conventions Center to evaluate the results of the 2015-2016 school year, and to define strategies for the coming year.
Part of the plenary session will be used to discuss the documents of the Seventh Congress of the Cuban Communist Party in order to contribute with ideas and ways to improve them
