Cognitive Neuroscience at World Psychophysiology Congress

Havana - Electrophysiology and cognitive neuroscience are some of the issues that will be discussed at the 18th International Congress of Psychophysiology, whose scientific program begins today with more than 350 experts from Latin America, Europe, Asia, the United States and Canada.
The event, taking place for the first time in a Latin American nation, is sponsored by the International Organization of Psychophysiology, the Cuban Society for Neuroscience and the Cuban Neuroscience Center.
Cuba is an appropriate venue for this meeting due to its long and fruitful tradition in psychophysiology studies, one of the members of the organizing committee told Prensa Latina.
Our country is considered a pioneer in the introduction of electrophysiology, the fusion of multimodal imaging and cognitive neuroscience. Appointing the island as a host of this event is an example of the high recognition of research in this field in the country, he said.
The congress, which will run until September 4th, will be attended by experts from Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Cuba, the latter with 44 specialists. Researchers from France, Italy, Germany, China, Australia, Japan, United States and Canada, among others, are also involved in the event.
