Venezuela Hosts 17th NAM Summit

HAVANA, Cuba -he 17th Non-Aligned Movement Summit (NAM) began on Tuesday at Isla Margarita, Venezuela, the second largest forum of its kind in the word, composed of 120 full-right members representing almost two thirds of the United Nations' membership

.Peace will be the main call at debates scheduled until September 18 in three consecutive segments: Meetings of Top Officials, Meeting of Foreign Ministers and Conference of Heads of State and Government, the Granma daily reported on Tuesday.
For the fourth time, Latin America will host the multi-national meeting and Venezuela will be the third country of the area to assume its presidency, since Cuba chaired it twice (1979 and 2006) and Colombia, once (1995).

Fidel's presence was recalled in several Ariguanabo centers and institutions. Students from the Eduardo Abela Vocational School of Art, located in San Antonio de los Baños, paid tribute to the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, through dance and music.

The Cuban Art University (ISA) opened an honorary department dedicated to Fidel Castro’s cultural thinking on Monday as a tribute to the Cuban Revolution’s historical leader, three years after his passing.

Havana - The 11th International Linguistic Conference 2019, taking place at the Jose Antonio Portuondo Valdor Institute of Literature and Linguistics, began on Monday with the presence of experts from several countries.
