Cuban Vaccine against Cancer to be Used in Colombia

Cuba will introduce a therapeutic vaccine against the lung cancer disease named Cimavax in Colombia which is a medical achievement that was developed at the local Molecular Immunology center for over two decades.

The local Prensa Latina news agency highlighted that the presentation of that medicine will be carried out at the International Active Immunotherapy Symposium that has been held in the Colombian Medellin city.

Colombia, along with Cuba, Peru and Paraguay, will be the fourth nation of the world where that vaccine will be registered. It will be given to patients who are suffering from that disease in its more advanced stage and have already undergone the chemotherapy treatment.

Cimavax was already used in over four thousand people on Cuba and other nations and it has shown really promising results given it extends up to five years the patient´s life. Their survival parameter does not usually surpass the year and an 18-month period, as much.
