China to Promote Global Development with NAM

Beijing - The Chinese government expressed its commitment to work together with the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) to strengthen relations that will promote peace and global development, the government said here today.

In his speech at the 17th NAM Summit, which ended yesterday in the Venezuelan island of Margarita, the special representative of the Chinese government on Latin American Affairs, Yin Hengmin, stated that his country will continue supporting that bloc to raise its international relevance.

We will continue strongly supporting that the NAM can play a more important role in the international affairs, we continuously deepen the traditional friendship with the movement and expand mutually beneficial cooperation, Yin said.

The representative of the second economy of the world revealed that China and NAM will 'jointly continue standing with developing countries and protecting their common interests, in order to establish a new order of international relations.'

According to the Chinese delegate, whose country is an observer to NAM; the world is in an 'era of great changes' that have led to the 'inevitable' rise of emerging and developing countries.

The economic globalization and social computerization released and greatly promoted social productivity, creating unprecedented opportunities for development, while new threats and challenges that should be seriously discussed have emerged, he stated.

About this issue, he called to find points in common, put aside differences, and insist on overcoming disputes through dialogue and consultation.

The Asian diplomat urged to support the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, and the sovereign equality and treatment equal to all countries, 'whether small or large, powerful or weak, rich or poor.'

As regards to the problem in Syria, Yin called on all relevant parties to support and overcome disputes and conflicts political and diplomatically, as well as carry out fully the related resolution of the UN Security Council.
